Anti-Theft Issue
I've had my '95 850 parked for sale for several weeks, it hasn't been driven in this time. When I went to show it, the door locks acted up. I unlock the driver's door and all the doors unlock.....for about 3 seconds then the car locks itself up and arms the anti-theft system.
If I open the door immediately after unlocking it, I can start the car as long as the door remains open, but if I close the door prior to starting it, the ignition locks out. Then when I go to get out of the car, the alarm sounds and lights flash.
Any help? Thanks

I drove the car 20 minutes, that didn't make any difference. I'll hook a charger to it tomorrow and see if it helps. It sucks, a couple gremlins came on while it's been sitting, it's making the car hard to sell
The best thing to do is drive it daily till you get it sold or give the thing away. The worse thing to do to an old car is park it.
I think the locking thing may reset itself after the battery is charged. I would take the battery out or at least disconnect it for no less than 30 minutes while charging it. That may reset the system. My last 960 would lock itself back if I didn't open the drivers door with a minute or so.

Had a similar self locking issue with my '95 850 wagon. Turns out the lock mechanism in the rear hatch was stuck in the lock position almost like someone was trying to lock the car with the key from back there. After a good spray with Liquid Wrench, problem solved.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.
Got it figured out. The trunk latch handle was stiff and wasn't returning to the rest position. A little penetrating oil and it's working fine! Thanks for the help everyone!
