Default Anti-theft light molding?

I live in Florida and to say the least it is stinking HOT here in the summer. I have a 96 glt. Black. Inside my car every day the temp. reads out 110 degrees. It has finally taken it's toll on that black strip on top of the dash along the bottom of the windshield, where the anti-theft light is centered. It's cracked in three places and the light has almost fallen through the dash. Anyone know if this can be replaced?

Hi there, if I am not mistaken the part you are refering to is molded directly onto the body of the dash itself and also forms part of the vent that blows air to the windshield... in other words you would have to replace the entire body of the dashboard, again if I am not mistaken.

When mine broke, I wound up using gaffers tape in an attempt to reinforce it, I didnt have much success though. I also used some silicone to hold the light in place with some limited success.

You may however be able to repair it some other way, perhaps someone will chime in with a repair solution or a link to a tutorial.

Art is right, it's part of the dash assembly. Very large part and hard to replace. Not to mention, where would you find one. Not sure that Volvo still sells them.

As for a repair, you can try removing the dash pad, then use some epoxy to remold the area. Just thinking what might work.
