Default Auto climate control problems

The fan speed control stopped working the other day, just blows on hi till you turn the key off and it will only blow cold air out the dash vents, so I figured its time for a new control. Before buying a new one I took off the covers and found a burnt spot on the main board. Fixed that and all was good for a week. Now I have no defrost and only cold air on the drivers side... Anyone have any info on repairing these things, or is Ebay my next best option?

I really can't answer your question with any validity however, ebay isn't your only source. In my for sale thread I have an ECC and resistor. This of course is an option if one of these turns out to be the problem.

Do the "Recirc" and "A/C Off" lights flash when you start the car? If they don't flash, it might just need damper motor adjustments / resetting.

I am assuming that when you soldered the board, you did not melt too much solder to connect it to adjacent circuit lines.

Does it still blow only on High? If so, you'll probably need a new Power Stage (for an ECC) or resistor (for an MCC).

As for the cold air, it sounds like the damper motors are not doing their thing.

Is there any heat anywhere at anytime? If not, you'll want to check your heater core to make sure it's OK.
