Default Battery Drain 1995 850

I have a battery drain on my 1995 850. I tried removing the battery terminal and putting a meter on it. I always get 4.23 amps not sure if I'm doing it correctly? I pulled all the fuses and there was no change. The meter was set on DC amps and I did it from the positive and negative terminals and still got the same reading. Please help

4 amps is quite a bit, and that would generate quite a lot of heat (that's 50 watts). The places that can go without starting a fire or making some light or noise are limited somewhat. It's not the light in the glove box if it's drawing 4 amps. If the windshield wipers ran all night you'd notice that.

I suggest you start by disconnecting the charging post on your alternator. That is easy to get to, it's unfused, and it's pretty likely to be the problem. If that fixes it, then the rectifier in the alternator has gone bad.

If that doesn't fix it, then try to find something that's warm. I know it's July, so the whole car will be warm! sorry about that.

As Firebird says disconnect the charging wire from the alternator and by next morning you should know. A bad doide may be the problem.
