i havent taken itapart yet, but i stucked my finger in thehub from the behindand it feels like the end of theaxel fell out so i was able tomove it in and out so i think it isjust an axel.
if i remove a rotor would the axel come out easilyby pulling it? or is there something elsewhat keeps it attached to the trans?
sorry for unprofessionalism, never had to deal with suspension and all that kind of stuff.

Once you have the wheel off you will need to remove the 2 screws holding the strut to the hub assembly.(Screws are 17MM Bolt and 18MM nut.
Then you will need to go under the car and remove the 2 12mm screws on the bracket holding the axle into place on the bearing of the axle.
You will also need a 36MM I believe to remove the axle nut.
Then the axle will slide out. Sounds like maybe you snapped the axle where it goes through the hub.

that mettallcup highlighted on a picture stucked inside the hub, another part from theinside ofmettal cup isstucked on the axel also. while taking the axel off the steel ***** came out, thats when i got upset. now i definitely need a new axel but not sure about thehub though. any advise with how to remove that steel cup from the hub? i don't think i can unscrew the hub as that steel peace is over the screws!

You need to remove the nut from the outer part of the axle.
If you can wait I have to change a left side axle on the wifes car tomorrow and I will take pics and make a write up about how to remove the axle with pics.

The "cup" is the CV joint; somehow the Circlip holding it got loose & came off. Most people usually have difficulty removing it, though.
The complete axle is about $75~$115 + shipping.

I have not seen individual CV-joint kit other than the dealer; people seem to replace the entire axle as an assembly rather than fixing the CV-joint.
Follow Tech's advice.

Ok I couldn't get as many pics as I really wanted to.
It was only me with the greasy nasty hands so I tried to take pics before i took things apart.
But here is a little explination with some pics.
First you need to remove the wheel.
Then remove the 36MM nut that is in the center of the rotor.

This is how I tried to get the axle loose in the hub. I use 2 ballpein hammers.
Back the nut almost all the way out. With the smaller hammer put the ball on the end of the axle back the nut up just till it touches the hammer. This way when you hit the smaller hammer with the bigger one the hammer will stay still.
Once the axle is loose in the hub you need to remove the nut for the sway bar link.

Then you need to unplug the ABS sensor from inside the hub.

Then there is 2 ways you can do it.
1. Remove the bolts holding the strut to the hub.
2.Remove the balljoint from the bottom of the hub.

Then you need to pull out on the hub and remove the axle.
