Blower Motot Fan not coming on

Blower Motot Fan not coming on
Well my beloved 855 gave up the fan today. Was working fine all through the Dec storm of 2008 in Portland, OR. We got a record 18.5" of snow in 9 days to make the 2nd snowest Dec. Worst was way back into 1932. Anyway, that is not the post.
Left this morning and my fan motor won't turn on. Came home this evening and checked the fuses #5 and #31. Good.
So what would cause the fan blower motor not to work. I can feel heat coming out, but the fan won't work.
All assitance is greatly appreciated.

Not to sound ignorant, don't they usually indicate signs of stress before they go? My fan worked without a hitch. Well, except for the slight bearing noise it made a slow speed. I just assumed that was not an issue and would be replaced this coming summer.
Now I suppose the resitor is located on the blower motor, correct. That is buried under the dash, right? Not exaxtly the repair to do in winter in your driveway, as I don't have acces to my garage. Used for other things.
Help me out here with some guidance!!

Auto...this is not a difficult repair and ya you can do it in about 1/2 hr or so with just a few tools. Yes you do have to pull the glove box but ...big deal 10 or 12 screws and it is out...the resistor sits right next to the heater motor and has a single torx screw holding it in place and a single harness that pluigs into it...don't make it out to be more than it is...
Sure if you have a heated garage or could put a small electric heater in your car for 1/2 hour or so just to make it comfy for you. This is very doable...Once you see how quickly it comes apart ud kick urself in the *** if you gave it to a stealer or an indy to do...Easy stuff!!

You know Auto...it isn't typically my forte...but here goes...this is from memory. But I have done it 4 times in the last month so I am pretty versed at this point.
1. Power off...I don't know why but they all say to disconnect the battery...at this point I bypass it...but to be on the safe side...remove the plastic panel under the glove box...3 screws
2. remove the screws going into the glove box lid like 8 phillips
3. Use a small screwdriver to pop the hinges loose they just slide out..do not wait for a pop.
4. Remove the glove box lid...4 screws...
5 remove the glove box liner I think like 8 screws.
6 take the hinges out.
7. Remove the airbag deflector use a 13mm on a 3-4" ext and at least a 3/8 drive there are 3 nuts...they are gold in color slide the airbag deflector out it is kind of a PITA to get out...but that is the most difficult part
8. Locate the blower motor...right next to the blower motor...just to the left as you look at it you will see a little black box that has a single harness running to it, and a single small torx screw holding it in...remove the harness, and remove the screw...then back it out it is actually pretty long with aluminum fins on it...it does not look like any resistor I know of...but that is it.
Put a new one in...and reverse procedure...prolly take 1/2 hr

RE: Blower Motot Fan not coming on
Thanks Tech-
Any good way to determine whether a car is an early or late '94?
A guy near me is parting out a '94 855 T. but he does not know. Is it a certain number sequence in the VIN#.
Also, what is a fair price for the rear spoiler on a wagon? I will have to repaint as it is not blue.
Thanks

That is good to know as I am starting in the replace worn out parts period of my cars life. This particular car from the pictureappears to have 5 lug wheels. I will be going to see it soon after the new year.
BTW, Happy New Year andI hope that 2009 finds you a new and wonderful job as I understand you are looking.
