Broken hoses
I was doing my rotor and cap today. I'm not sure of the part name but it's the thing that hooks through the bottom of the airbox and has the hoses attatched. I'm pretty sure all the hoses are brittle and broken. I hooked everything back up and took it for a drive around the block. It ran ok. I'm def going to replace those hoses but I don't have time for a few days. Am I cool? What exactly am I looking at? One thing I noticed is that my miles til empty indicator went from 60 to 10 after a 1/2 mile trip.
The Turbo Control Valve? That has 3 hoses and an electrical connector, and screws to the side of the airbox. If those hoses are getting bad, it would definitely be a good idea to replace them. I did mine when I had everything torn down....it's not a bad idea to replace ALL your vacuum lines.
Yes that's def it. The only thing I noticed is that the turbo doesn't stop spooling so I have to control it from the throttle and watch the gauge so it doesn't get too high. Thanks for the info. Is there anything I should know about the replacement? I pretty much saw where everything goes but I'd like to see if there's a write up with this procedure.
Changing the vacuum lines is pretty straightforward. I'd advise you to only remove one at a time though - that way you dont mix anything up. There's also the possibility that the TCV is bad on your car. if you replace the hoses and still have the same issues with boost being regulated, that's where I would start looking. Fortunately, they are easy to replace - they are held to the airbox with 2 screws. I have an extra one that works, so if you still have issues after replacing the hoses, let me know and I will see if i can hook you up.
Thanks for the tips and the offer. I'm pretty sure the TCV is fine bc I only had the boost issue start today after removing the airbox. I checked out the Stylin hose kit. Would that include ALL the hoses including the TCV hoses? It says they give you enough but enough of what?
Stylin shows assorted size vacuum hoses in there kit that says it has enough for the 850's
That's a little confusing cause We only have one size vacuum hose on our cars.
I got 14' of silicone hose from iPd at there last garage sale/car show for both my S60R and 850R. I ended us with about 4' left over.

And a BIG +1 to what ibfied said about only replacing one hose at a time. It's really easy to mix up what hose goes where in the BCS.

I want to order vacuum hose today from ipd. What exact sizes and how much length should I get? Also what should I get as far as clamps go? I want to replace ALL the vacuum hose. Also anyone know if there's a write up on this? Thanks in advance
I checked that out already. But it seems that if I get the hose from ipd at 2.25 a foot, it would be much cheaper than $43 from stylin. I really just wanna know what size hoses I need to order. The stylin motors set just seems like a rip off compared to ipd.
