Got a 1994 850 4 door sedan. My driver side sun visor was loose (where it connects up to the roof) so I tried to remove it and ended up breaking the plastic piece that it inserts into (on the left side). I called a volvo parts place and they want $140 for it. Wow... Any suggestions. I'm cheap and this car is very old. Is there a special tool I need to unscrew the two bolts that hold the thing in? Maybe if I could remove it I could glue the plastic pieces (that I broke using the wrong tool).

Any help would be great.

If it's like mine, the tool you need is a 10mm socket and ratchet to turn it out. I got my visor (same problem, but on the drivers side) out of the junk yard. Can't beat 5 bucks.

 

I need to replace my driver's side visor as there is about 1.5" of play in it (hangs down) and it's gonna drive me nuts (perhaps a short drive). Was looking at some on ebay for about $30, but only passenger side is available right now:

10 mm socket, that's just what I was looking for. I was using the wrong one and broke the brittle plastic. I'll try to find one in a junk yard. $140 is crazy, but I realize its a Volvo, so I'm really not surprised. Thanks for your help!
