Default busted a/c?

a whiles back i hit a nasty put hole i didnt see doin around 30-40mph in my 95 glt. the hit was violent enough to crack my exhaust just behind my cat, so i got that fixed. around the same time i noticed the a/c stopped working too. It stills blows air which is kind of cold, but not really. its also really humid like outside. any suggestions on what could have gone? or am i just being paranoid, and all i need is a recharge?

I would try having it recharged first. If there is a leak it should be seen then.

If there is a leak the system will generally work for no more than one month if it is recharged.

How long has it been since work was done on the air conditioner?

Once it is recharged, the freon should have dye in it so that if the system is leaking, you will see the dye and have the system fixed.

i just bought teh car about a month ago or so. the ac was workin well, but stopped recently around teh time i broke my exhaust on the pothole too, so im not sure if it happened earlier or later, and i just didnt notice or its related to that hole. i guess ill try rechargin it and see what happens, couldnt poss hurt more than riding around without a/c during this heat wave

i just bought a recharge kit today, and the pressure read a little above 100, that means im set on freon i suppose? i did notice when i turned it on and let it run with the hood open there was some noise coming from the compressor i beleive? it was located just under teh alternator. was makin a bit of a grinding noise kinda, nothing severe, but didnt sound quite like it was supposed to be like that. anyhow, with a recharge out of the picture, this would leave me with reshimming the clutch?

If you can swing it best way is to have a shop with a machine charge it.
