A/C Issue - Compressor?
Hi, all.
I just recently started having just warm, humid air come out of the A/C (1997 850 Turbo - evaporator replaced at 40K under warranty). I hooked up a pressure gauge to the low-pressure port and it appears that the compressor keeps cycling between 20 and 45 every few seconds, so I'm assuming that I have enough 134a.
Am I right in assuming that the problem is either with the compressor clutch or the compressor itself?
Thanks.
Andy

RE: A/C Issue - Compressor?
HI Andy,
I posted a post few minutes ago regarding my air conditioning now working and asking what steps I need to take to troubleshoot the problem. Since you are facing the same issue and seems to have tried out a few things, can you tell me how you started to troubleshoot it?
Thanx!

RE: A/C Issue - Compressor?
you can get a reman. compressor for around 200 bucks and it's pretty easy to replace actually. i'm having the same issue with my 96 850 and after reading through the forums a bit, it seems it's a pretty common problem and is generally the compressor clutch if you've already verified that you have enough r134a in the system.
