Default A/C recharging

Hi - just wanted to check with you guys. I need to check my freon level in my 1998 850 Turbo and I am wondering where the low side port is located. I did find a port on the left side (as I am facing the car) with a cap noting 6Nm on it - is this the port I should plug into?

Thanks for your help.
Al

The low pressure port is behind the passenger side headlight on the frame rail.
I think the one you see is the correct one.
The 850's don't have a high pressure port.

I just checked my A/C system and it is running about 37# certainly in the "normal" range, yet I am still not getting any cold or even cool air out of the system - any ideas as to what is wrong?

Can you hear the compressor coupling? If not, bypass the low pressure switch that is close to the firewall with a paper clip or a cable to see what happens.

Is the low pressure switch on the low pressure line? I pulled off the cable - i can just use a paper clip to connect the two terminals in the switch?

You are right. I jumped the switch and the pressure dropped to about 10 pounds. Can I leave it jumped until I find another low pressure switch to replace this one?

Jumped the switch out - recharged the system to approximately 30#, I can hear the compressor kick in but no cold air yet. Any other thoughts?

The system holds a little over 1.5 lbs You might need more.

If you bypassed the low pressure switch and you can hear the compressor working, put the ECC in defog, the temp in minumum and the blower in70%. Post the results here. Is your electrofan working properly?
