Default A/C trouble

I have and '97 850 lpt wagon. Everything seems to work it just doesn't blow cold air. I tried to recharge it. I'm using "Arctic Freeze". Afte connect it and pulling the trigger the gauge on the can goes straight to warning. Any thoughts on what is causing it?

Sounds like you have plenty of refrigerant, maybe even too much. You may have a problem with you’re A/C compressor. Do a search for shimming the compressor to check if that’s the issue.

There is a quick way to see if your compressor needss shiming: set AC to coolest setting. Check to see if the clutch is spinning. Using a broom stick, push against the face of the clutch. If the if the clutch jumps and AC starts putting out cold air, there is too wide a gap between compressor drive wheel and clutch plate, usely 30 thousands or more and the magnet clutch does not have enough force to pull the clutch to compressor drive wheel. I fixed my problem by cleaning the surface under the clutch ta(Prying up each one) then inserting a 30 thousandth in thick piece of formica under each tab, securing with epoxy or crazy glue-jel. Been over a year and AC works fine. You have to do this from the underside of car.
