Default Cabin Air Filter Adapter Installation

My Volvo 850 currently does not have a cabin filter nor the adapter, so I went to FCP Euro and ordered both because I was sick of dust in the vents. I know this may sound silly, but, how should I install the adapter? Does it just snap in or what? I haven't studied it greatly.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a video showing how to install the filter. The only thing different you have to do is maybe pull another screw or two out of the cowl towards the drivers side to get more lift on the cover, then simply set the filter housing down in the hole/space.

Thanks! I had seen your video earlier and was familiar with how to change the filter itself, but I was unsure about the adapter. I was wondering if it needed to be secured in or sealed in any way.

You pull the old housing out and slide the new housing in. Its that easy, the seal holds it snug.

I don't think he has an old housing. My 850 did not.

Like I said in the post above, just put it in place, it aint going anywhere.

He would have to explain. All my 95's didnt have filters or adaptors. They did have sort of a coned exposed open plastic trim. That trim comes off and the new trim that is molded to house a filter is inserted. If he had what I had he would have to purchase the filter and the housing.

Just yank out the old trim and press in the new housing, right? I just don't want to break anything!

Thanks!
