Default CBV bad... I think

When I was driving home today I passed a car and when I let off the gas it didn't makethatBOV (CBV)sound when pressure is released. Instead, it made a squeeking noise. I realized it only happened after the turbo spooled up at around 4k RPM and up. Could this be the CBV that is going bad? The turbo boost seems normal.

Maybe it might be.
I am kind of fighting the same thing on my R as well.
I have to do some checking but time is very limited here.

I also think mine might be the A/C compressor kicking in or out when at the high RPM.

It can't be my A/C compressor because I just replaced mine this summer. I wonder if I can just buy abov and a blanking plate. That sounds like it should work if its the cbv thats bad. just thinking out loud

That should work.
The compressor might be kicking back in. After WOT the compressor kicks off. Then it kicks back in.

But then it would squeek when you first turn on the A/C

No because when you are driving you are at a high RPM.
If you are driving almost wide open and turn it on you will most likely hear a noise maybe a squeek or something like that.

oh ok I understand. Well next time I'm out I'll check that. If that's not it, maybe I'll see how the bov goes if I can find a good one for cheap

Hey Tech, I just bought the EST intake and the CBVis working fine now. I have no sqeek anymore!
I think it's cheaper than getting a BOV in the end, after install and everything.
I'm not really sure why it just started working, maybe the old air filter was bad? I don't know. At least everything is all good now.

Oh and while i'm at it, is there a way I can run some metal/aluminum tubing in place of the stock rubber intake hoses for better flow?

^You can get Samco hoses which are pretty good....They will last longer.

I'm not so sure about flow...
