Default Bad CBV or Vacuum Leak???

Just had the timing done by Volvo, went ahead and replaced tensioner (Volvo), idler (GMB), belt (hecho en mexico), & Water Pump (Volvo) as well as the Aux belt.

Originally the tensioner was also GMB but it seized up a week after and my timing jumped a tooth and it started running really crappy. Took it back and they replaced it for 200 bucks plus the Volvo part.

I also had DSS drive axles installed up front.

Here's the deal. I can hear the belt area running a bit rough (like hard rubbing perhaps??) It's just not quiet like it used to be.. I wouldn't quite say its squeaking though.

Also, when I step on the gas I can hear a rushing air sort of sound and when I step off the accelerator I hear the "whoosh" sound. I can only hear it with the music off and the windows up, and I can't hear it inside the engine bad when the vehicle is in park revved up.

Any idea what might be going on?

Thanks.

Default Bump

No one in the community has ever heard a whooshing sound suddenly start out of nowhere?? It sounds like rushing air when I'm steady on the gas and then it sound like spooling turbos when I get off the gas, but I've never ever heard it before... Coming from drivers side.

Anyone?

Perhaps it the plastic cover over your timing belt. There could be an alignment issue with the cover causing your sounds.

I ruled that out, it's on the drivers side.

How's your braking?
Whooshing sounds typically come from the brake booster.

braking seems ok. THe fronts are fairly new and the rear is really really bad, but this seems to be coming from the front passenger side
