Default Central Locking

I searched the forum, but didn't see an answer, so I'll ask..

I have a 95 850 Wagon. When I lock or unlock thedoor fromeither the passenger side or the drivers side, only that door locks and unlocks, as well as the tailgate. The rear doors never do anything, or does the opposite front door. Not sure if this is how it is "supposed" to work or not.

I have no "fob" and I don't know if the receiver is in the car for one.

On the 1995 all the doors should unlock from either cylinder.

Ok, I'm looking at the wiring diagrams, and there is one labled simply "Central Locking", one labled 2 Stage Central Locking and one labled Central Locking with deadlock. Any ideas how I can tell which one I have?

Also anyone seen a writeup on troubleshooting central locking?

Thanks

John

You have single stage. I forget if they also call it deadlocking.
You have the same as my car and every other Volvo till the end of 1995.
All doors are controlled by the front doors mainly the drivers front door.

Ok, I found the troubleshooting guide (link here) http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/tech/service/850/KeylessEntrySystem.pdf

Now I have a couple of questions..

Where is the "central locking unit latch"? (mentioned below)
Ensure doors and trunk are open. Lock unit should be latched
in lock position by pressing in central locking unit latch with a
screwdriver.
Also where are the central locking relays?
Thanks

The relay is under the dash on the drivers side.
They mean to manually lock the latch with a screw driver so the car thinks all the doors are closed.
But you will still have them open.
