for me, its not the money issue, its the issue of not wanting to spend more on the exhaust than i did on the car. i paid WAY under 1k for the car, so i wanted an inexpensive way to make it sound different.

I just got mine done today. got a high flow cat from a local auto parts store for $40, got $70 for the old cat, and paid local muffler shop to straight pipe the muffler. Total out of pocket was $80. sounds mean! pretty damn loud though, probably will get some kind of muffler put on it.

Has anybody tried the Walker exhaust- they claim to be similar to OEM but it's cheaper. It looks like it bolts in. Ever since I got a new front motor mount mine's been really loud, and I'm hoping the exhaust is most of it. I don't want to spend a ton either. I did get a leak fixed in the middle behind the CAT last spring.

Since you know which Walker exhaust you are asking about, how about sharing the part number or site you are looking at? It would make it easier for someone to give you some input.

Yes,this is it :
Walker On-Line Catalog
I am looking to replace OEM ancient and now loud exhaust, and this one looks like it has the right hangers, and maybe I could do it myself even, might have to struggle to get the old one off.

Remember, if you are a turbo you dont want a chambered muffler. If you want the sound deadening of a chambered muffler, no drone and free flowing have a look at the Dynomax VT muffler.

Not that you care but I did all my own exhaust. 3" all the way back, v-banded(except for the muffler), Aero30 resonator and a dynomax VT muffler.
