Default Cherry Bomb on a Volvo?

So here is a crazy idea, has anyone thought about or tried a Cherry Bomb exhaust on a Volvo? Unconventional, sure, but is there a good reason this would suck? They are trying to make a big comeback right now, and the basic principles don't seem bad.

What exactly are cherry bombs? I've heard about them but never looked further into them?

Ok on second thought it might sound OK. However only if your turboed I think it would sound OK.

Also I would suggest a 3" mandrel bent downpipe to a 2.5" to 3" mandrel bent catback with the CherryBomb muffler on the end...

I am turbo'd

Here's an additional question for you S70. I'm in California and I think anything in front of the CAT is illegal here. Any suggestions?

When buying ANY staight through muffler be sure to look inside of it.Many have a much smaller bore than the actual inlet/outlet pipes. Some only have perferations around 50-60% of the bore, limiting the sound reduction. Some have louvers inside and no explanation of flow direction?

I'm going to try zero muffler on my turbo,if it's too loud I'll install muffler at the rear.
Dodge did not put a muffler on their SRT4(don't call it a Neon).

Are you running a straight pipe or is it the stock exhaust and your going to cut the muffler out?

Nice link boxpin. I'm definitely going to have to put a cat on my exhaust when it goes on the wagon.

I would try it out and see how it sounds. I think it would sound pretty good IMO. Once you have it done, post up a sound clip or video for us.
