Default Clutch stuck disengaged

96 850 wagon with manual transmission.

The other day clutch pedal was pressed and now will not return. The clutch is permanently disengaged (engine not powering the wheels). Clutch was feeling a bit low but was still very driveable.

This is opposite what I would expect to happen if there was a leak, maybe the slave cylinder pushed out too far and got jammed?

Any clues as to what this could be? I have never run into an issue like this in a manual before.

Thanks

I had this issue on a BMW, I needed a new clutch. The pressure plate went bad.

Yep; your pressure plate probably let go...

Could be the clutch slave cyl is stuck all the way out, but i would still bet on pressure plate...
