Default Cold weather start-up concern

Hi everyone,

I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and it's been below 20 degrees F for about a month now and recently my '95 Turbo has started to idle between 3000 and 3200 rpm when I start it in the morning; it only does this when it's cold not after every start, once the car is warm it starts just like it usually does. It revs high for a minute or two and then comes back down to about 1000 rpm. I always wait for the idle to get back to normal before driving it. It has never done this before and I'm guessing it has something to do with the cold. Any advice or explanation would be great.

it warms up the engine faster.
depending on the temp outside, our the v70R will take longer when it's cold out.

wait for the experts to get on...

when it is very cold mine idels at 1500rpm for like 5-10 seconds and this is normal.

running it at 3000rpm immediatly after start up is probably very bad because of lack of lubrication (it takes a second for the oil to get around the engine) and its probably also bad for the turbo for the same reason...

i have no idea what the problem could be, wait for tech.
