confusion with catalytic conv. assembly for my car??

Default confusion with catalytic conv. assembly for my car??

Hi guys, this is kinda wierd. I've been looking around at catalytic converters for my car. I saw the complete assembly for sale but there is some confusion. The manifold for my engine (darn 10 valve!) has the 4 bolt hookup for the cat. But the right cat. for my engine doesn't have the 4 bolt assembly! it has i think a 2 bolt hookup with the gasket...WTF!!!! am i going mad!!

You could always take the car to a muffler shop and have themweld a nice high flow cat.
Maybe you could get the whole exhaust system done (3in downpipe to a2.5in cat-back).

Hi guys...

TIPSP..the thing is that my engine is N/A not turbo so i think it needs some backpressure?

TECH..hey Dude what's doin? ya this is the cat in question...it's been hard to diagnose, i need someone else to keep the revs up while i look underneith..

PSABOIc..ya depending what peice needs to be changed..

I'll try to get it checked out this week...

Yes, NAs need some backpressure.
My dad just put bullet/race cats on his NA 540i with no problems, I think it is the muffler choice that is crucial. Though I am not 100% sure.
Not sure if you looked here yet? Here are the two, but they have huge price differences.
