Lightbulb Control Panel / Dash Switch Light Bulbs

This is probably one of the most neglected item in these cars (I hope) but I full with mime all the time. I would like to replace the little bulbs that go in the switches across the dash. Does anyone have any options for them? The stealer has to order them at $11 a pop (my stealer wants $18.50 each).

When you pull the switch out they fit in the back of the switch, kinda screw in. They are housed by a plastic adapter and can be pulled out of that pretty easy.

Every time a new volvo comes in the junk yard, I pull out all the switches and take the bulbs out of them. I've managed to get enough good ones that all my switch lights work.

Heck, if I can just get the bulbs with the wires hanging out of them I'll be happy.

Maybe these bulbs will work: http://store.dollhousecollectables.com/do9.html

Those bulbs should work if they will fit. I spoke to a guy today that claims that LED bulbs will not allow you to dim them. That would suck so I am checking out some other bulbs. I'll post back when I find out if they work or not.

The link to the bulbs that I posted above do not work right because they are not 14 volt or the right brightness.

However, I was able to find a source that I made me purchase in bulk. So I have some extras to go around.

Damn shame I hadn't read this post before now - here's a post that you can follow to head over to Radio Shack and get the replacement bulbs:

I spent an hour at radio shack. They said they NO LONGER carry anything that works. How much were the bulbs there?

Here's the link for the bulbs on their website. I seem to recall that's the price I paid for the packets.

12V Microlamps (2-Pack) - RadioShack.com

Head back over to the store and smack them up-side the head with anything you can grab for wasting your time!

Well, now that I have a ton of these bulbs I don't know if I will waste my time. Better yet, I think I'll go see if they can still get them at our local Shack. They just closed one location down about a month ago.
