Default damper motor reset.

After pulling six codes listed in previous post, I pulled all 5 damper motors. After cleaning all the old grease off the contact board and testing they all work fine. Although the two motors behind the glove box one of the latches had fallen off the "white arm" and the one that slides into the black sleeve was broken. I drilled a very small hole at the end of the metal where the arm attaches to and applied a very small cotter pin. Not sure how I'm going to fix the sleeve yet. The question would be before I reinstall all 5 motors in the original position that they came off I have read about someone resetting the motors but cant find how to do this. Will they rest on their own? I don't want to have to do this twice. It took me literally 8 hours to get all five out. Thank you.

To the best of my memory the recirculate motor (visible with the glove box out) has the white arm that falls off or breaks. Had to fix many (years ago)

To reset the motors- VIDA suggests using the volvo scan tool (the early obd tool made by autodiagnos, one that works on 1988-1998 cars) to set the limits for the servos. But I seem to remember from the old green books (or trial and error back then) - cycle the temp ***** to hot - wait, then cycle the temp ***** to cold - that might set the blend door (temp) limits. For the other servos - not in my memory bank.

Thanks for the input again hoonk. I'm wondering If the dealership might be able to set those? $$$$! But again I cant do this twice. Also wondering if after installing all the motors maybe I could run the system to see if all flaps are opening or closing properly. If not I would have to remove it and try adjusting the gears?

They might not still have the old tool - it last worked on 1998 cars. And probably not be anyone there who has ever worked on a 95 850 climate control
