everything is apart but for the life of me i cant get the axle out, its now in 2 pieces, just the inner axle is stuck tin the tranny, its lodged in pretty tight. tried screwdriver, tapping with hammer. any other ideas. thank you.
nevermind, i used a thicker screwdriver like a chisel and it popped right out, nothing leaking. new one going in now.

 

When all else fails there is a tool. It's an adapter that looks a little like a horse shoe that slips around the ball part of the joint and attaches to a slide hammer. Oreilly, Autozone ..... loan them out.

I've been lucky not to need it. Usually I use two pry bars (screwdrivers in a pinch), the bigger the better and try to get them as close to 180 drgrees apart as possible. They usually pop with a bit of persuasion.
