I have replaced both my control arms and just did another pair of arms on a friends 850 yesterday and all 4 came out very quickly and easily by removing the bolts from the bushings and dropping the arm down from the sub-frame first. Then I removed the bolt and nut from the ball joint side and with the arm hanging free, just wiggle it and the joint slides right out of the spindle.

No chisels or prying on the spindle needed.

 

Thanks for the heads up. I learned this the hard way.
