I have both the lights flashing for A/C and Recirculate swithes, which indicates a fault in the ECC. Does any one know if these can be read withone of theActron code readers. It seemslike I always have something going wrong, that may be because my GF liked my car so much she boughtone too, so now I have two to fix. It's great when I can't remember how toput one back together,I just look atthe other.

 

Sorry to say but it won't.
It is really hard to find one that will read climate codes without paying around 3K or one.

 

What year is your car?

Can you post a pic of it and your issue?

If your car is a 1992 - 1995 you will have a dual port under the hood and there are instructions for retrieving and clearing the codes here: http://volvospeed.com/maintence.htm

If your car has the port then you will need the reader. If not, then you may just want the reader for the future or to help out a friend.

It's a 96 but I went out tonight and the darned thing didn't flash, all seems fine, for now.

 

I feel your pain the wifes car (white one) has the ECC lights flashing and I have no way to pull the codes either. Our scanner at work was over 3K and it reads all systems but A/C[:@]

I hope you can figure it out. If you do not have the air working on the really hot days the car can become a green house real quick, even with the windows down and the roof open.
