ECC & power module

ECC & power module
I am trying to determine the most likely problem with the heater-A/C fan operation in my '95 850 turbo wagon. The fan will start to run but then after a variable time period it shuts off. It will start again after cycling the ignition switch. There are no trouble codes stored and the lights on the ECC do not flash. I have measured the current flow for the fan and at full speed the draw is about 25 Amps. The information that I have indicates that 27 Amps is normal. I have not been able to detect any surge in the current before it trips off. If I operate the fan in the manual mode and keep the speed reduced to approximately 40% then it will continue to run without any problem. This leaves me to believe that the power module is tripping the circuit off at some level considerably below the 35 Amps that my information says is the normal trip point. Before I drop a noticeable amount of cash into a new power module, is there some other testing that I should do?

RE: ECC & power module
Bearing in mind that this whole area is foreign to me, and I just rely on others informed advice, I had exactly the same scenario on my 95 T wagon just a few weeks ago. I bought a blower motor and cage from ebay (FCGroton I think) for $140 and after an easy install, I found no further problems, not to mention a much better heat, the latter surprised me, I had felt my heat was excellent as it was.
Good luck
