egr flow malfunction

RE: egr flow malfunction
Try to make sure the air pump is working properly. When the car sits for a long time then you start it.There should be like a low vaccum like noise from the Left front fender. That is the air pump and part of the EGR system. If that all checks out the valve attached to the metal pipe at the back top part of the engine might be bad.

RE: egr flow malfunction
I tried to hear the air pump, but I realized the car had to be cold to hear it and it was already warmed up.
So I decided to take off the throttle body and look at the egr passage. It was 100% clogged up. I spent about an hour trying to get the egr pipe off of the valve. Eventually I gave up and just started digging all that crap out of that hole.
Cleaned up the throttle body in the process too.
I reset the code. will keep an eye on it.
Thanks,
Steve G
