Engine transplant

Engine transplant
I have a '94 gle with 136k on the clock. I really can't fault it, it's been very reliable. However, I have the oportunity to purchase a very cheap donor car which is a '96 turbo (It just has a missing rear bumper and l/r quarter panel damage. I'm well aware of the more than common noob question of converting an n/a engine to a turbo. Through my experience with my Saab 9000 Aero and being a mod on SaabCentral, I'm aware that it's really not worth it. My question is that, if I pull the engine from the donor and rebuild it (having all the nessesary wiring, computers and components from the donor), would it be a reasonable project to go ahead with to make the conversion then? Besides swapping out the various wiring harnesses etc. is there any real stumbling blocks with this plan? I'm asking largely because I'm not sure of any major differences that might exist between these years/models etc. If it's going to be a right royal, then I wont bother.
Thanks in advance,
Cuba.
