Default TRACS

Where the TRACS switch would be is covered with a blank, and the other day, I opened it and noticed that is has all the wiring for the switch, so I was wondering:

If I bought the switch from Volvo, would I be able to use TRACS?

Thanks!!!

Likely not Zach. The ABS module and ABS pumps for Tracs and non tracks carsare different.

You aren't really missing anything anyway, IMHO Tracs is a waste of time.It is not a real traction control system that limits power but rather it applies the brakes to the slipping wheel. At the end of the day it just makes noise and does very little to help in ice or snow.

+2 ... I have been playing with it a lot in the snow and ice lately, and especially now that I have a set of Arctic Alpin tires on, it makes no noticeable difference in my traction. The tires make all the difference... highly recommend over regular all-season tires.

Plus it seems that when Volvo makes vehicles, they make a standard wiring harness for all their cars. So whether you have the option or not, it will most likely have the wiring anyway. I have heard this makes the manufacturing process a bit simpler.
