Just passing on info. I had a speedo that worked on and off for months. Afterchecking the wiring and the speed sensor on the tranny, which checked out fine. After much reading online I decided to replace the ABS control module, that fixed it. It seems that thesignal from the speed sensor goes through the abs unitfirst to get to the speedo (why volvo didn't send this signal parallel instead of series is a mystery).
