Possible fuel problem?

Possible fuel problem?
I recently bought a 1995 turbo 850. My dad was drivingt it and poretty near ran it out of gas.(im pretty sure)the next morning, it wouldn't start.I could hear it almost catching every so often soI put a few gallons of gas in and still no luck. I pulled the fuel pump apart and when i crank it, i can hear it buzzing. If i pull the hose off of it, gas drains out. On the bar that brings fuel to the injectors, i found this little valve that acts a lot like a tire valve, and when released, it squirts gas. I also pulled one of the spark plugs to check to see if there was a spark, and when my dad stuck the plug close to its socket, while the car was cranking, the little gas in the air went off with a big pop so im guessing there is a spark.
My question is, what should I do next? should I replace the fuel pump? or is it possible that there is some sort of air lock or something else for that matter going on?

RE: Possible fuel problem?
If you heard buzz, the problem is probably a retiring fuel pump relay. The pump & relay are known problems with age and replacing the pump, after doing the relay, is not a bad idea as long as you can afford it and plan to keep the car for a while.
Air/vapour lock is not common on the 850s. The valve is where you check the fuel pressure.
See attached for the fuel pump relay location. Also, wait for Moderator Tech and other members’ suggestions.

RE: Possible fuel problem?
Ok, so i pulled the relay, sanded the contacts and put it back in. No luck. How exactly would I pull codes? would i need a computer or is it like a 940?
and to be clear, the relay isn't buzzing, its the fuel pump when the key is turned forward. I can hear a buzz from under the hood that continues after i pull the key out for about 15 seconds but its from under a black cover that is almost directly behind the transmission dipstick. and to the right of the injectors. a picture for reference....
I believe it could be the idle air control valve?
In the meantime, I guess i'll be buying one of these....
