RE: ever do a tranny in an 850?
Hello Dannydoo,
In regard to your question:
>How long of a job is to change a 94 autobox 850turbo?
Too long, I don't even want to think about it (a few hours for dealer, several hours for me I assume).
>Anyone have any tips or recomendations?pics or links?
If I were you, I would definitely get the Volvo factory manual before proceeding. Have sufficient quantity of Dexron-IIE(III)/Mercon. Mark all electrical/hydraulic connections to avoid mix-up later. Make sure no foreign object gets into the system, not even a tiny piece.
Good luck,
JPN
I most likely can do tis on a lift or on my

Theres 3 different 94 trannys?
The j/y told me the only difference between 94/95 is the converter is that true?
And I see alot of posts that 93 is the same as the w50-43le also.
If its a w 50-43le and its in a 93 or 96 shouldnt that be the same?Maybe not 96 I hear theyre obdII correct?
But would that even make a difference?
10hrs by the book is alot of work.
Is there an easier way?
Should I pull te motor/trans out from the top and do it?
Should I unbolt the sub frame and drop the whole mess on the floor?
Or should I try to wiggle out from the top?
or try to wiggle it out from the bottom?
Im suprised that not many people have experience being that the trans last from 50/200k and the motors do 200-400k
strange...
One last question. The plugs are set up so that you cant plug something ito the wrong socket right?
Or are thhey just color coded or something crazy??
