Expansion tank getting low often
I am not seeing any signs of my radiator is leaking. However, when I had the AC on yesterday I saw a white mist and it was smelling of coolant. Could it be my water pump is going bad????
I would personally pressure test the sytem and check for leaks. If you're not developing any pressure there's a leak somewhere. I had to do this on my 93 850 and i found out it was the expansion tank that was cracked. Remember to check around the head for leaks
I have a new expansion tank that I have to install. However, the water level sensor can't fit the new bottle. What could be the cause of the white mist that I was seeing/smelling
Do I really need a heater core since Ihave moved to the Caribbean? Is there some way I can remove it and prevent the antifreeze from leaving the radiator. Just asking
You can remove the hoses from outside and loop them together. That will work fine.
If the water pump was leaking then you would see it under the front of the car.

It may freak out your climate control unit if it is an electronic version but it will stop the leak if your heater core is bad.

OK. I got up this morning and the carpet on the driver's side is soaked.I'm going to the auto A/C shop this morning and have them remove the hoses. So I don't have to remove the dash after all then if I can adres the issues via the hoses under the hood. Can u describe to me exactly where the hoses are loated? I don't want to assume that they (the a/c guys)would know since they don't work on heaters in the Caribbean. Would this have any impact on my A/C?
It will not affect A/C at all.
If you open the hood and look at the firewall just behind the transmission there it 2 hoses going into the firewall. They are rubber and change to metal going into the firewall.

Is that heater core replacement a tough job. My tank was low this week, and I've always had that 'smell' from the a/c system. I just hope it's not a head gasket. I guess I need to do a leak test?
