Default expert advice please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks ... going to put cam cover (valve cover????????) back on after replacing the head... 2.3 t5 and haines manuel says apply volvo liquid gasket with a small roller, i dont know what this is !!!! can i use rtv silcone??????? please help..... i want to set cam timing tonite......once again thanks to all of you volvo guys ................pete

In order to get the cam cover on, you also need special tools to compress the cover on. I made some with old spark plugs and welded bots to them to press it in. The sealant is available from Volvo. Use the special sealant.

I would only use Volvo liquid gasket, but I've never done this job so wait for others' replies. Moderator Tech would be able to give you the best answer.

use the volvo gasket.it cures in the absence of air so make sure youre using the right stuff.its cheap..sand and clean both sides a bit to make sure they mate perfectly and just roll the gasket on with a lint free roller making sure none of the gasket runs into the channels.torque to specificaions in your haynes and your set.
