failed at jumpstarting?!?!?
hey all,
my friend here has a 1995 volvo 850. it hasnt been started in two weeks and was in cold weather. ~20 degrees
he went to go start it and the battery was dead. - completely dead: no dash lights or any response when turning the key
we tried jumpstarting it with my battery pack as well as another running car thinking the pack wasnt giving enough power.
the car will turn to the on positon, dash lights will come on but once we try to crank, the hazards come on and stay on,
the starter never cranked and the car still wont start.
i cant find out what this error code is. any ideas? thanks!

ey? thaw? i mean.. the weather is still consistently ~20 degrees out... cant really do anything about that...
the cars dash lights did not dim when we tried to crank it. they stayed solid and then the hazards would come on.

hm... eh. i feel liek neutral wont make a difference.. but we could try it anyway... the ground is good. it sparks, and once i disconnect hte battery pack, the dash lights shut off. the battery is completely dead so the car wouldnt even respond if the battery wasnt connected properly..
im pretty sure the hazards flashing is an error code of some sort.. i was goign to call a dealer tomorrow. but figured somebody on the forums must have encountered a problem liek this before..
thanks

The hazards flashing indicates thatthe alarm has tripped. It should also honk the alarm horn but 90% of the horns are dead. Lock and unlock the car to clear the alarm and then it should start just fine if you still have a good battery.
