I would pull the head before you remove the engine from the car.
The headbolts are High torque. You will have a hard time getting them loose with the engine out of the car.
If you have 0 compression then you might only have a burnt valve.

I am working on a write up, I made some progress this weekend. If you have any questions before I get it finished let me know and I will go through pictures and try to address them. In hindsight, if I was only replacing the rear main seal I would go the route of dropping the subframe and removing the transmission but for what I wanted to do pulling them both was the thing to do. I have slowed up on finishing installing the accessories and firing it up due to illness and family issues. I have a company car so it is not super pressing but I do want to finish it up. I could lose my job tomorrow and be scr3wed.
