Default first post hello and wanting advice...

Hello everybody I'm the (almost) new owner of a 1995 850 sedan GLT. I've bought it off my parents not too long ago and was curious about a few things after finding a random 1994 850 turbo sedan for cheap that has a shot transmission.

1. Are the seats/rims/wheels/etc swappable on the two? There is alot of damage to the drivers seat in my current car and I think the turbos are almost mint. plus I like the look of the turbos rims better...

2. Are turbo engines able to be swapped into a normal model GLT? I'd love to add just a lil more get up and go if its possible this is a project car for me...

I'm extremely new to cars so forgive me if any of this sounds ignorant....

Thanks ahead!

1. Seats, wheels, and some motor parts are swappable.

2. If this is your first project and your new to cars, I would say learn about your car first, doing minor repairs, tune ups, how it drives, its quirks, etc. before you attempt a motor swap. And since 95 GLTs are NAs, you'd basically have to swap over the entire engine bay into the GLT to make it a turbo, not worth it at all IMO. If I were you, I would learn about the car you have and buy a turbo model later on down the road.

I think I might just buy it for the parts I can use. I need new tires and what not anyways and they are supposedly new.

lol nevermind the engine swap idea...

what all other motor parts are swappable?

The car painted black??? I wouldn't do that, if you're painting it a different color, then you have to do door jams and take apart half the car if you want to do it right. The 850 silver looks good IMO. It looks really clean, no point in painting it.

Most engine accessories should be swappable. Just do a PN cross reference to clarify, since the 94s use different parts sometimes.

Agreed. Frankly, I kind of like the rims you have on it now! Granted, I'm sure turbo rims would be cooler.

But, yeah.... I wouldn't paint it.

@gilber. Maybe your right. The roof trim and spoiler are peeled and faded so I do need to touch those up, even if I do the stock colors.

I still love the way the turbo model rims look tho! and Im sure new seats wouldnt hurt at all...

By roof trim you mean the metal pieces that go along the edges of the roof? The paint/coating comes off of those on every 850. And is the spoiler fading or peeling? If it's faded, it just may need a good clay bar and polish/wax.

I don't know if it's the picture or what buy that car looks more like a light grey than silver. I like the color, and would never paint it a different color. It's always a bad idea to change the color of a car.
