Default fog lights

Can i install aftermarket fog lights to my 850 wagon? i have read some stuff about there being certain wires to lead off of. Or can i buy prewired fog lamps and just run them to volvo fog light switch, or switch the comes with kit.

Thanks

Hi matttttttt,

Fog lamps, or any auxiliary lamps can be installed on most cars, as long as they don't block airflow to the radiator. I assume most kits come with wiring instructions, wires & necessary hardware. I would avoid cheap units and go with name brands. I personally like projectors for AUX application. Projectors look nice but are a bit weak for primary source of light. But for fog-lamp application they are great. HIDs are still bit overpriced.

Some shopsinstall it for you, but you can do it yourself if you have a wire stripper, digital multimeter, splicing/soldering tools, and any basic electrical tools.

Good luck,

JPN

If you want to spend time you can use the factory wiring.
If not then just wire the switch from the kit.

You can buy a OEM switch and a wire harness from a dealer, so your dash will look good with OEM switch, then run the harness off ofan accessories plug under the dash (yellow)
