Default Fuel injectors

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the fuel injectors are interchangable between a '94 850 2.5 20v and a '96 850 2.5 20v. I removed a set from a '94 in a breakers yard and sent for clean/test, had a quick look at mine today to get tools together for change and realised that the injectors seem differant...doh!!
The ones that i have currently got fitted are the yellow ones.
Cheers
Mark

Default Injectors

The yellow ones are capable of 198.99mm I guess, or something like that. My 850 Turbo has 300.00mm, the orange looking ones, they are a bit fatter than the yellow ones, or they might be a weird orange. If anything you might not get the response as usual, maybe slower but normal?

As long as they are the same impedance, they will work.

Impedance??? What's that mean?

What I usually do to see if one model has parts that will work on another year model is go to a parts website. Look up a part for the car I have, then look up that same part for the car I want to take parts from. If the part numbers are the same, it will likely work. If not, then I move on.

LOL, there are two kinds of injectors, Low Impedance and High Impedance. The low Impedance are found on the 940 Turbo as an example and have a resistance of only a few Ohms. The 850, and the non turbo 940 have what is know as a high impedance injector, which is around 50 Ohms.

I understand impedences because I have dealt with so many speaker wirings. Just wonderin why the differences in impedences between the two? I know lower impedences tend to be unstable and can cause problems but in benefit require lower current to power.
