Gas strut removal
The end at the boot is straight forward, but I don't see quite how to get the other end in the recess off. Both struts need re-gassing or renewing, boot is bloody heavy and dangerous this way.

The end that tucks in by the c pillar just snaps into place. Just replace, they are cheap enough. When the new ones arrive you'll see how the hidden end snaps in. Grab a flashlight and take your time.
