gauge lights
the lights for my gauges are going hay wire. The light for them is not burned out and works fine. But when i am driving down the road it shuts off and when i turn the headlight switch from the on position to the off position and back they come back on and stay on for how ever long it feels like. I dont know what is causing this.
do u think it could be the switch? or maybe some wirings are loosely connected to the gauge. the headlights are fine i guess...
This will sound really bizare but, check the tail/brakelights. I had a 94 Mercury Villager that had strange things happening with the dash lights and the cruise control. It turnred out to be one of tail/stop lights where the two small metal contacts for each filament had been indented and spread out so much over time that they touched. So when I put on the lights the stop lights came on, the cruise control cut out, and the dash light went out. Also when I hit the brakes the tailight sort of came on. I don't know if your car has the dual filament bulbs or if stop and tail lights are all separate but it's worth checking.
