have noticed since it has been getting warmer that my 96 850 wagon is making a strange gurgling noise I'm pretty sure under the hood. I am using the a/c when this happens but it really doesn't sound like it is coming from the dash. It does not do it when I shut the car off more when I am coming to a stop. If anyone has any advice to what this is it would be greatly appreciated!

 

well, inside the dash you have both your evaporator for the AC and your heater core. A few quick things to check - does it make a different sound with the AC on or off? Can you hear the sound from outside the car with the hood closed (say with the car window open)? can you hear the sound from under the hood with the engine running? Is it a soft noise or very noticeable? Why are you concerned about the temp gauge - are there other symptoms? What's the coolant level in the reservoir?

 

Also listen to the power steering pump.
