Hard starting

My 96 Volvo 850R only starts when I wiggle the shifter, is there a switch of some sort in the shifter that has a connection with the ignition?

my guess (others should jump in too) is its the PNP switch. I believe it is really common for them to go out on the 850's. Mine hasn't yet but I have read about it.
