Default head bolt tightening...help?

Putting the head bolts back in after a valve job. Manual says 15lbs, then 37lbs then 130 degrees. Has any body translated 130 degrees into ft/lbs? I don't have a degree wrench but can approximate 90 degrees plus forty but I am not comfortable with that. I can approximate about 100ft lbs or maybe 105 but my torque wrench clicks at a pre set ft/lbs.

Am I good at 100 ft/lbs or 105? I really appreciate any knowledge, speculation or "I did this once and its run ever since".....thanks

Sorry but I would try to get the degree tool and do it right.
You do not want to have to do it again.

well, does it make sense to back them all off and start over? I shoudve marked 0 degrees on each bolt and kept up with it from there. Tourque wrench clicked before 130 degrees at about 100 ft/lbs but it was close....but no cigar?

It is almost to late. WHen you angle them it compresses the gasket to much and if you go over there will be trouble.I mean it might work and it might not.

Me I would not take the chance and make sure I have the guage.

But you can try it if you want.

I cannot say much more as I have never tried it the other way.

I know it is kind of stupid to do the angle instead of a straight up torque spec but thats how they do it.

The angle gauge was really cheap when I did mine. I bought one at Auto Zone, but can not remember how much it was.
