Tightening Parking Brake Cable
Open the center console lid (Arm rest lid) then remove the little cover in the bottom of the cubby. Then you should see a Torxes screw towards the front of the hole. That adjusts the E-brake cable.
That's a Huge torx! FYI... bigger than a 40, handy to have it as a torx bit on a ratchet. But my handheld 40 worked ok, just a sloppy job. lol
I assume after a few cycles of adjustment that it would be time to change the rear pads correct?

Actually, it's not a torx but a metric hex - but it sounds like you got it
The pads will probably last a very long time since you use them to keep the car from rolling as opposed to 'real' brake pads that stop a car. The pads will probably fall off the metal braket before the pad material is worn away - unless you use 'em to make the car slide a lot. Most likely if you tighten it up a few times, it's either just getting loose or the cable is stretching.
