Default Headlight Aiming

I have a hunch that my headlights might not be perfectly aligned. I have turned them on in the garage to check, but noticed that the lights have a "level"....... I'm not going to assume, cause we all know what happens when u do BUT does the bubble have to be in the middle. This car is more sophisticated than me and my previous vehicles,lol.....

I believe they should both be set at 0
I kind of ignore that and just set to what I like best.

Like Tech says, aim them to your preference, but not to the point where they will blind on coming traffic. I usually find a level parking lot with a large blank wall. I back up about 50 feet from the wall, and then aim the lights using the levels. So far, so good.
