Just got me a lovely big ole 850 96' and lovin it! Having issues with headlights if anyone can help. Both low beams dissapeared on me one morning, one headlight was cracked so I replaced the whole driver side headlamp unit and the bulbs. I was about to change the bulb on the other side too but that had started working again. Had that feeling of satisfaction of a job well done, until I went to start her up again and the lights didnt come on again, then after a few seconds they did, then they were off again. Full beams still work on both sides......any ideas people?

 

I'm new the 850 too so hopefully someone else can chime in but that sounds a lot like it could be a bad headlight relay.

 

Jiggle your key. I had an issue with the headlights working that was fixed by replacing the ignition switch.

 

Well I have a new headlight switch coming and a new headlight relay so hopefully one of those should work will keep ya posted! Seems to be plenty of these type parts available on ebay so must be a common problem.
