Default Headliner repair resulting in short? help!

I have an 1995 850 sedan, with sunroof. I had the headliner fixed as it was getting saggy in the back. It looks great but after a couple of weeks the car began to blow the fuse for door chime (ding ding all the way home) the courtesy light and inside lights and remote key lock. I have changed the fuse 2x. This morning the chime was fine but the inside lights do not work. Do you think the guy who fixed the headliner crossed something up possibly? Any ideas? This is my daily driver....Thanks!!!

Anywhere a screw is used you should check. Start with the visors then the rear map lights.

I think he is referring to electrical items screwed into the headliner to see if a wire may have been caught or pinched under the screw holding it to the headliner.
It would make a difference if the person just used adhesive through small cuts in the headliner to glue it back up or actually removed the headliner, repaired it and them reinstalled it.

Ok, thanks. I will check that. I do know he removed the whole thing, just leaving the sunroof alone as it was fine.

The wiring for the interior lights runs near the sun visor mounts, so I would start looking there. Someone else has posted threads about this same situation before.

I just had the mount, not the screwed in side, fall off when lowering the shade. It is damaged and will not click back into place. I poked around and did not feel anything in where the mount goes. Should I undo the bolts on the side nearest the door and see if anything appears to have been pinched or stuck? I will order a new click in mount. I don't want to be too po-ed at the guy because this thing is 17 years old so bound to be brittle. I would have liked to know though....

Oh and why is the door chime quiet now but everything else still messed up? It is all on the same fuse.

Talking Thanks! It worked!

I ordered the visor clips off Ebay for 8 bucks. I didn't want to do anything until I had that stabilized. This morning I went out and unscrewed the bolts. Sure enough the wire was smashed flat as a pancake and you could see a little bit of red in one spot. I taped it up with electrician's tape and rechecked the fuses. One more was out so I replaced it. I stared the car up and AHHHHH! (sound from heaven) everything works! I screwed the bolts back in, making sure to keep the wire off to the side, and my little car is tip top once again! Thanks to all who advised me here !!!!!!!
