Heater motor bad 'vibration'
Lets see if this makes sense to any of you guys. First this is my 94 which I have grown to love. The day before yesterday I noticed that my 'heat' didn't seem to be working the way it should, so I started to work on it...after much labor I got the blower motor out and reinstalled another one out of my 93, and every thing was good at 'camp happy'.
Tonight I go to take my son for pizza, and i noticed my side seemed to be blowing 'cool' air, not sure if the ac was on or what I kind of and so did my son try to move some of the controls to either cut off the cold air from coming in, or to turn off the A/C. When all of a sudden my heater motor started making a loud vibration noise, So I just turned it off, went and got the pizza and came home. Now it is becoming winter in Ohio so the heater is not an option.
I tried several different settings, cycling power etc, nothing seems to work, Since I already replaced my motor with a known good unit I don't have any more to throw at it, and I'd just like to get my heat working. No matter what setting I use it vibrates horribly ...when it does I turn it off, I don't want to fry the resistor or motor...but regardless of what setting i use it does the same thing...
Any Idea?

RE: Heater motor bad 'vibration'
I am not sure how the motor cage could go out of balance? The cage is a light plastic and worked fine for 1.5 days, sounds like something is 'rubbing' on the motor...I am going to dig into it today, when I find out what it is, I will update. In the meantime if anyone has any clues...let me in.
As Always, Thanks

When you pull it out look at it good. There is metal clips on there for weights. Thats how they balance the cages. When you installed it one might have knocked loose and got thrown off. Also if your car doesn't have a pollen filter then leaves or something like that might have gotten sucked in.

Got it, for some reason when I looked in the pollen filter which was way plugged, NOT ANYMORE, I saw several of the blades laying in the box, so I cleaned the pollen filter very well, and the entire air intake box, then I removed the heater motor, which is my third one in 2 days so I am good at it. replaced the blade with my old one and once again everything is bliss here in 'Happy Land", The Volvo is back together and Lookin damn good for a $300 car!
